Valentines Wishlist

You may remember me doing my Valentine's Wishlist last year? Well it was fun, so I have decided to bring it back again! To be honest, it is probably going to be quite similar to last year, as I can't say my tastes have changed that much!
1) Flowers

I think most girls want flowers on Valentine's day! And pink roses are still my all time favourite! My favourite way of having flowers is just having a bunch of one type, nothing fancy, nothing distracting, and then in a glass vase...

2) Perfume

Perfume is one of my favourite thing to collect, I'm not such a signature fragrance person, more of a fragrance for every occasion or mood! One which I have had my eye on recently is Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium.

3) Fortnum and Mason Hamper

So this is not really a realistic thing to put on my list, but I will anyway! I absolutely love Fortnum and Mason, and when I saw they were doing Valentine's Hampers, I had to put it on my list!
4) Lush Bath Goodies

This is always my favourite seasonal collection! I adore lush, and there is nothing better than a lovely long soak in the bath catching up on vlogs or Netflix! My favourite products are the Unicorn Horn, Blue Skies and White Fluffy Clouds, Rose Jam Bubbleroon, Lover Lamp and Butterball.
5) Spa Break

So this is more of a joint experience, but I would love to go away with my boyfriend over night! My favourite Hotel and Spa is Thornton Hall on the Wirral (not far from Liverpool). Their massages are incredible and they have a full thermal suite, the snow cave is awesome, bizarre and cold.
6) Ladurée Macarons

These are my favourite macarons ever, I first had Ladurée macarons about 5 years ago in Paris (if you want to know how I find my favourite places, have a look at my Parisian Inspiration post) and I have never found any others as good. If you follow my Instagram you might see them appear when I go on holiday - if there is a Ladurée in the vicinity, you can be sure I would find it! Also there is Ladurée in London, so I usually try and pick up some macarons when I am there!

I hope this post gives you some inspiration! Keep an eye out for part two at the weekend, where I will be doing a gift guide for men!

Amazing Barcelona Makeup Haul

One of my favourite things about going abroad is duty free and any local pharmacies or makeup stores for some new makeup bits! Last time I went to France, I got a some French Pharmacy bits, and a new Chanel quad, but this time I found a Sephora store and got really excited as I have never tried any of their own brand products! I may have also purchased a couple more lipsticks and lipliners...
MAC Brave lipstick and Soar lipliner

MAC Whirl lipstick and Morning Coffee Lipliner

As you may have realised from some of my previous posts, I am going through a bit of a nudes lipstick phase, while I was in France I bought Velvet Teddy and I also got Faux a couple of months ago! At London Gatwick on the way out I decided to try a more brown shade, and purchased Whirl with the matching lipliner in Morning Coffee. This is a matte lipstick, so I definitely recommend using a moisturising primer underneath it, otherwise it will dry out your lips. On the way back, I thought I would add another pinkier one to the collection and got Brave, and the lipliner Soar, which everyone talks about as being one of the Kylie Jenner lipstick staples, but I'm not sure how well they actually go together, I think I need to work on some blending.

Sephora Purchases
Chanel Chance Perfume

I have had Chanel Chance for years, and it is one of the staples in my collection. I think you can never really go wrong with Chanel Chance perfume, it's a classic scent which can be worn day or night, and even using the Eau de Toilette the scent is really long lasting.

Sephora Exfoliating Powder

I was so excited to get some new products from Sephora - I have never tried any of their things before, so I wanted to try a skincare item, an eyeshadow palette, a lip product and something a bit different, so that's what I did!

I have never used an exfoliating powder before, but I was looking forward to trying it! It's really simple to use, you literally shake some onto your wet hands and it foams up, cleaning your face really well. It's recommended to use this method once a week, but you can also include some in your daily cleanser every day for a deeper clean, which I'm yet to try!

Sephora Eyeshadow Palette

Sephora Eyeshadow Palette

I absolutely love getting new eyeshadow palettes, and I'm really regretting that I only bought the smokey eye one, as they had a neutrals one which was fantastic as well! Oh well, next trip!

Sephora Lip and Cheek Crayon and Smoothing & Brightening Powder
Bioderma Micellar Water

I have a definite issue where I seem to be unable to go to Europe without stopping by a pharmacy and buying some more Bioderma Micellar Water. It's definitely my favourite makeup remover, and it doesn't hurt my eczema at all which is a winner!

Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Intense Perfume

Continuing looking through my old images, I realised I didn't review the perfume that Adam bought me for our Anniversary at the beginning of October.
I had a sample of this perfume a while ago, and really liked it, so was very happy when Adam gave me a bottle of it! Classique Intense is described as having a "dazzling sensuality" and being a new "radiant oriental floral fragrance" and I absolutely love it.
To understand different scents, it is important to break them down into levels: the top notes are the ones which are recognised immediately when the perfume has been sprayed however they are also the quickest to evaporate. The heart notes (middle notes) come into play once the top notes have worn off, as they last much longer, these scents are usually pleasant and well rounded, able to blend with the top and base notes. The base notes leave a lasting impression, when everything else has worn off, they also mingle with the heart notes to make the body of the scent. Classique Intense has top notes of Pomegranate and Tiare flower, heart notes of Jasmine, orange blossom and rose, and base notes of patchouli and vanilla.
This is a heavy perfume, and you definitely only need a couple of quirts to make an impression, but it is perfect for a night out, or a romantic dinner, when you want to make an impression. I was given this as a gift set, and it came with the matching body lotion - which I like to use more for everyday - it leaves a trace of the scent but it isn't overpowering - much more suitable for work!
Have you used this perfume? What do you think?
