Rosie for Autograph Makeup Collection Review

I have been a huge Rosie for Autograph fan for a long time, and have several sets of her underwear, and when I heard about her makeup collection, I knew it was going to be beautiful - and I wasn't disappointed.

Everything is so sleek and rose gold coloured, with simple classy packaging and the products inside are fab. By far, my favourite item I purchased was the Lady Rose lipstick, and I will definitely be getting some more colours. The pigmentation is brilliant, the texture is so creamy, and it contains Argan Oil - which is a stroke of genius, because it isn't drying in the slightest. I would describe the finish as semi-matte, the colour lasts for so long, it hardly moved when I had a drink and a snack. The lipstick is priced at £14, so we are in the same price as MAC, and to be honest I would say yes - just as good!

Finally, can I just say they have done something very simple but brilliant: magnetic closure for the lipstick lid. Celebrate ladies, you won't have to fish about in the bottom of your handbag for the lid anymore!

If you have been following my blog for a while, you will know that I love collecting perfumes, as I like a different one for every occasion! Well I can't pass up a beautiful (and reasonable priced) bottle, so I picked up the first Rosie for Autograph perfume. This has been out for quite a long time, but somehow I have always overlooked it. However for £12 for 30ml Eau de Parfum, it is definitely worth getting if you like flowery scents. As you would expect this is a very rose scented perfume, which isn't really my winter thing, but I'm definitely more floral in spring/ summer - so expect to smell it on me a lot then... in the meantime it just looks beautiful in my collection!

I decided to pick up a couple of the makeup sticks, I decided that the starstruck contour was a must have, and also the miracle concealer. Although I want to try the highlighter stick too...

I think the contour stick is fantastic, I got it in the lighter shade, which I would say is perfect for my skin tone, it is so easy to use, and works amazingly with a beauty blender! Such a quick way to contour!

I'm not sure how I feel about the miracle concealer, but I'm not certain I would call it my miracle product... I got it in colour 1, which seems ok, but to be honest there wasn't a lot of choice, which I think is quite disappointing. It is also very warm toned, which makes it good for under eyes, as it really helps with any dark circles, but warning - do not try and use it on any blemishes. I found it made them look a lot more obvious!! So yep, slightly mixed review - if you want something just for under eyes, the consistency and colour works. Just don't use it for anything else.

Saving one of the best till last.... I LOVE the Amazing Radiance cream! This is a brilliant product. Seriously no downsides. The consistency glides onto my skin (and my skin is quite fussy) and sits really well underneath my foundation. The glow it gives is amazing, it isn't sparkly or anything else, it just makes your skin look luminous! I can also see this working really well in the summer when I have a tan, because I would just use it on its own for a light makeup look!

I did try and swatch the products, but the sun came out and I got a bit washed out!! However you can still see how pigmented the lipstick is, this was literally one swipe! You can also see the warm tone from the concealer, and the contour stick was a couple of swipes to show the colour - but I love that it's build able!

Amazing Radiance Cream swatch - I didn't really want to blend this in because it disappears, and you wouldn't see it... which is kind of the point!

So what do you think? Have you picked up any of the Rosie for Autograph Makeup? Is there any other bits I need to try? I'm probably going to get the highlighter stick, and another lipstick (or two) so if there is anything you think I can't live without let me know in the comments and I'll pick it up!

Lots of love

Valentines Gift Guide for Him

Earlier this week I published may Valentine's Wishlist, so I thought it was only fair that I also did a gift guide for the man in your life!

1) Watch

Whereas women wear a variety of jewellery and have many options on how to make a statement with their accessories, men usually keep it quite simple, and so I think a variety of watches for different occasions is required. I like getting my boyfriend watches, as when he has it on, I always think about the occasion for which I bought it!

2) Tie

I am a big fan of beautiful ties. You can always tell a quality silk tie from a cheaper version, and it adds class to a standard (but hopefully well cut) suit. My preferred brands are Hermès and Brioni - silk is definitely better on the continent!

3) Pen

Ask any stationery aficionado who makes the best quality pen, and I can pretty much guarantee they will reply with Montblanc. Montblanc pens were first made in 1906, and have been a mark leader in luxury products ever since.

4) Sunglasses

So you have probably realised I like buying my boyfriends presents which last - I definitely prefer to buy him one nice item than several cheap ones! Sunglasses I think would make a great present, my boyfriend only wears one pair really, he isn't into flashy things, so simple classic aviators are perfect!

5) Manicure Set
One thing I dislike intensely are poorly kept nails. This applies to both men and women! I have no problem at all with short nails, as long as they are even, gently filed, with decent cuticles. Most men probably wouldn't bit themselves a manicure kit, so it's definitely up to the women in their lives to provide it!

So what do you all think of my gift guide for men this year? Have I given you any inspiration? Or do you think I've lost the plot entirely? (this is entirely possible!) Either way, let me know in the comments below what you are getting your bloke this year!

Valentines Wishlist

You may remember me doing my Valentine's Wishlist last year? Well it was fun, so I have decided to bring it back again! To be honest, it is probably going to be quite similar to last year, as I can't say my tastes have changed that much!
1) Flowers

I think most girls want flowers on Valentine's day! And pink roses are still my all time favourite! My favourite way of having flowers is just having a bunch of one type, nothing fancy, nothing distracting, and then in a glass vase...

2) Perfume

Perfume is one of my favourite thing to collect, I'm not such a signature fragrance person, more of a fragrance for every occasion or mood! One which I have had my eye on recently is Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium.

3) Fortnum and Mason Hamper

So this is not really a realistic thing to put on my list, but I will anyway! I absolutely love Fortnum and Mason, and when I saw they were doing Valentine's Hampers, I had to put it on my list!
4) Lush Bath Goodies

This is always my favourite seasonal collection! I adore lush, and there is nothing better than a lovely long soak in the bath catching up on vlogs or Netflix! My favourite products are the Unicorn Horn, Blue Skies and White Fluffy Clouds, Rose Jam Bubbleroon, Lover Lamp and Butterball.
5) Spa Break

So this is more of a joint experience, but I would love to go away with my boyfriend over night! My favourite Hotel and Spa is Thornton Hall on the Wirral (not far from Liverpool). Their massages are incredible and they have a full thermal suite, the snow cave is awesome, bizarre and cold.
6) Ladurée Macarons

These are my favourite macarons ever, I first had Ladurée macarons about 5 years ago in Paris (if you want to know how I find my favourite places, have a look at my Parisian Inspiration post) and I have never found any others as good. If you follow my Instagram you might see them appear when I go on holiday - if there is a Ladurée in the vicinity, you can be sure I would find it! Also there is Ladurée in London, so I usually try and pick up some macarons when I am there!

I hope this post gives you some inspiration! Keep an eye out for part two at the weekend, where I will be doing a gift guide for men!
