Amazing Barcelona Makeup Haul

One of my favourite things about going abroad is duty free and any local pharmacies or makeup stores for some new makeup bits! Last time I went to France, I got a some French Pharmacy bits, and a new Chanel quad, but this time I found a Sephora store and got really excited as I have never tried any of their own brand products! I may have also purchased a couple more lipsticks and lipliners...
MAC Brave lipstick and Soar lipliner

MAC Whirl lipstick and Morning Coffee Lipliner

As you may have realised from some of my previous posts, I am going through a bit of a nudes lipstick phase, while I was in France I bought Velvet Teddy and I also got Faux a couple of months ago! At London Gatwick on the way out I decided to try a more brown shade, and purchased Whirl with the matching lipliner in Morning Coffee. This is a matte lipstick, so I definitely recommend using a moisturising primer underneath it, otherwise it will dry out your lips. On the way back, I thought I would add another pinkier one to the collection and got Brave, and the lipliner Soar, which everyone talks about as being one of the Kylie Jenner lipstick staples, but I'm not sure how well they actually go together, I think I need to work on some blending.

Sephora Purchases
Chanel Chance Perfume

I have had Chanel Chance for years, and it is one of the staples in my collection. I think you can never really go wrong with Chanel Chance perfume, it's a classic scent which can be worn day or night, and even using the Eau de Toilette the scent is really long lasting.

Sephora Exfoliating Powder

I was so excited to get some new products from Sephora - I have never tried any of their things before, so I wanted to try a skincare item, an eyeshadow palette, a lip product and something a bit different, so that's what I did!

I have never used an exfoliating powder before, but I was looking forward to trying it! It's really simple to use, you literally shake some onto your wet hands and it foams up, cleaning your face really well. It's recommended to use this method once a week, but you can also include some in your daily cleanser every day for a deeper clean, which I'm yet to try!

Sephora Eyeshadow Palette

Sephora Eyeshadow Palette

I absolutely love getting new eyeshadow palettes, and I'm really regretting that I only bought the smokey eye one, as they had a neutrals one which was fantastic as well! Oh well, next trip!

Sephora Lip and Cheek Crayon and Smoothing & Brightening Powder
Bioderma Micellar Water

I have a definite issue where I seem to be unable to go to Europe without stopping by a pharmacy and buying some more Bioderma Micellar Water. It's definitely my favourite makeup remover, and it doesn't hurt my eczema at all which is a winner!

I will forever love Chanel Tissé Camélia eyeshadow palette

In January, I bought my first Chanel palette after a wonderful friend bought me a voucher for Christmas, and I absolutely loved it, the colour and consistency of the shadows are THE best I have ever used, (which as a die hard MAC lover is saying something). I have been looking for another, however it is quite a lot of money to justify spending on eyeshadow (£40) so I was waiting until I was certain which one. Then I went to an airport, saw them in duty free and it became an impulse purchase. But an amazing one.

Aren't they beautiful!

I have been using a few more pinky shades recently, which is a new step for me, and as I said, on impulse I decided to buy this palette instead of my normal copper/ brown/ neutral options. And I have so say I am so happy that I did! These colours are fantastic, for everyday I use the pink and light purple (both are ombré shades), sometimes with a little highlighter in the inner corners to brighten me up. For evenings though, I go all out, and that dark purple (intensify) is beautiful - it sits so well against my skin tone, it isn't as harsh as using black, but it adds something a bit more special than using a brown. I love it.

I got so excited by this

Every quad comes with a little book of application ideas

Always chic, always Chanel!

Sorry this one is a bit battered! I forgot to take it and it was rattling around my makeup bag!

I hope you liked reading this, if you want to read the review of my other Chanel quad, click here and you will be transported over! Sorry about the image quality in this post by the way, I promise this is the last time I don't take my DSLR on holiday with me!

Leave me a comment if you would like me to do a tutorial post with either of my Chanel quads to show the different looks that can be built up with the colours!

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow

One of my lovely friends gave me a Debenhams voucher for Christmas, as he knew I wanted to get some Chanel eyeshadows, which I have since excitedly purchased. And I have to say I love them! I hadn't had any Chanel makeup before, just perfume, so I didn't quite know what to expect (although being Chanel, I was hoping it to be high quality!)

It took me quite a while to decide which colour palette I wanted, as they are all lovely, however I decided that Tissé Mademoiselle would be the best one to start with, which has a neutral colour range, which can be used lightly for work, or alternatively can be built up to make a smoky eye for the evening.

The Chanel eyeshadows have been reformulated with a blend of polymers and spherical powders for a creamy, long lasting texture which is fantastic. It glides on easily, and stays put all day!

Another useful thing Chanel have supplied with these eyeshadows is a little book, which gives you instructions on creating 4 unique looks with the eyeshadows: Natural, Almond shaped, Intense and Smoky. This is a great idea as so many people just do the same look every day with their makeup, and the simple instructions make creating new looks very easy!
